Laikipia

Conservancies, rhino, and almost no one else.

Conservancies, rhino, and almost nobody

Laikipia is private land — a patchwork of conservancies where the rules are set by the owners rather than a parks authority. That means walking, night drives and horseback, none of which are permitted in a national park.

It is also the best rhino country in Kenya, and the quietest.

When should I come?

The best months are shown on every destination card. In broad terms the dry seasons — January to February and June to October — are easiest, but the green season has fewer people, lower rates and better light.

How long do I need here?

Three nights is the minimum worth doing. Two nights means one full day, and travel days on either side.

Can I combine it with somewhere else?

Almost always. Tell us your dates and we will propose the pairing that works for that time of year.
