The plains the migration crosses
The Serengeti is the Tanzanian half of the same ecosystem as the Mara, and considerably larger. The herds move through it for most of the year, so which part you stay in matters more than the month.
We place people by where the animals are expected to be, not by where the lodges want to sell.
When should I come?
The best months are shown on every destination card. In broad terms the dry seasons — January to February and June to October — are easiest, but the green season has fewer people, lower rates and better light.
How long do I need here?
Three nights is the minimum worth doing. Two nights means one full day, and travel days on either side.
Can I combine it with somewhere else?
