DAY 1: NAIROBI TO MAASAI MARA
Nairobi · Great Rift Valley · Maasai Mara
Your Kenyan safari begins with a morning pickup from your Nairobi hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
Meet your professional Duma Tours driver-guide and depart Nairobi in your private 4x4 Land Cruiser.
Travel through the scenic Great Rift Valley with a stop at the escarpment viewpoint. Take photographs of the dramatic valley landscape before continuing through Narok and into the Maasai country.
Continue towards the Maasai Mara National Reserve.
Arrive in time for lunch and check into your selected accommodation.
After some time to relax set out on your first afternoon game drive.
As the afternoon temperatures cool the Mara begins to come alive. Search for lions resting beneath acacia trees. Watch elephants moving across the plains and keep your eyes open for cheetahs giraffes zebras buffalo and other wildlife.
Return to your camp or lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.

DAY 2: FULL DAY MAASAI MARA

Wake up early to the sounds of the African wilderness.
After breakfast set out for a full day of exploration in the Maasai Mara.
Today is dedicated to wildlife.
Your private driver-guide will explore different areas of the reserve depending on wildlife movements and your interests.
Look for:
Lions Leopards Cheetahs Elephants Buffalo Giraffes Zebras Wildebeest Hippos Crocodiles Hyenas Gazelles More than 400 species of birds
Enjoy a picnic lunch in the reserve before continuing your game drive.
During the July to October migration period the Mara may also host enormous herds of wildebeest and zebra. River crossings are seasonal and depend entirely on wildlife movements and natural conditions.
For photographers this is an excellent day to spend time observing predator behaviour and capturing the Mara's dramatic landscapes.
Return to your accommodation in the evening.

Lake Nakuru
DAY 3: MAASAI MARA TO LAKE NAKURU
Breakfast before checking out.
Depart the Mara and travel north through the changing landscapes of the Great Rift Valley.
Continue towards Lake Nakuru National Park.
Enjoy lunch before heading out on an afternoon game drive.
Lake Nakuru offers a completely different landscape from the Mara. Explore the lake shoreline woodlands grasslands and surrounding hills while searching for black and white rhinos Rothschild's giraffes buffaloes zebras and other wildlife.
The lake is also famous for its birdlife. Flamingo numbers can vary considerably depending on lake conditions and water levels.
Return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Amboseli
DAY 4: LAKE NAKURU TO AMBOSELI
Rift Valley · Southern Kenya · Amboseli
Wake up early and enjoy breakfast before you depart and travel south towards Amboseli.
This is one of the longer transfer days of the safari. The changing scenery makes the journey part of the adventure as you move from the Rift Valley towards the plains of southern Kenya.
Arrive in the Amboseli area later in the day and check into your accommodation.
Depending on arrival time enjoy a short evening game drive.
As the sun begins to set you may see elephants moving across the open plains with the silhouette of Mount Kilimanjaro creating one of Kenya's most iconic safari scenes.
Return to your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight.

DAY 5: FULL DAY AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

Today is dedicated entirely to Amboseli National Park.
Wake early and head into the park for a sunrise game drive.
Amboseli is famous for its large elephant herds and spectacular views towards Mount Kilimanjaro. The mountain is weather-dependent and clear views are never guaranteed but early mornings often provide some of the best opportunities.
Explore the park's wetlands open plains acacia woodland and seasonal lake areas.

Return to your lodge for breakfast or enjoy a picnic breakfast depending on the day's schedule.

The late afternoon light creates excellent opportunities for wildlife photography especially around the Amboseli wetlands.

Wake early for your final Amboseli game drive.
This is your last opportunity to photograph the elephants and wildlife of the Amboseli ecosystem.
If the skies are clear you may enjoy a final spectacular view of Mount Kilimanjaro as the morning light illuminates the mountain.
Return to your accommodation for breakfast and check out.
Begin your journey back to Nairobi.
Enjoy lunch along the way before continuing to the capital.
Arrive in Nairobi in the afternoon or early evening.
